News What's hot in the e-bike industry

Austria, France and Switzerland are on the schedule for the E-Bike World Tour (EBWT).

Registration is already open!

Verbier, Switzerland - December 01, 2021 - A well-roundet 2022 EBWT series will kick off in the Austrian resort of Flachau before heading to Tignes-Vall d'Isère (France) and Verbier (Switzerland).

Sublime landscapes and a tried and tested format: a festival with inclusive e-bike events for any rider, plus elite races at every stop of the series.

A festival for all…

In terms of the festival, there will be something for everyone. Children and adults, newbies and experts alike, not forgetting those simply keen to try out a new sport. E-bike tests, Discovery Routes, and the famous Rando Gourmande, which will delight pleasure seekers. Each stage of the EBWT welcomes a Bosch e-MTB Challenge event, an international series offering a distinctive and amateur-friendly challenge with two difficulty options.

And an elite race

Thanks to its unique format, the E-Bike World Tour is fast becoming known as the “constructors’ championship.” Leading brands use this competitive platform to test and demonstrate their bikes’ performance, just as the automobile industry uses the Dakar Rally. Forming part of the UCI E-MTB Cross-Country Marathon calendar, EBWT’s multi-day races include 3,000-5,000m of climbing and more than 100km distance per day in technical terrain.

Innovative e-bike festival

Flachau in the province of Salzburg is the kick-off event for the E-Bike World Tour, the largest festival series all about sporty e-biking, from 24 to 26 June 2022.

Not all e-biking is the same: the motorised bike is increasingly advancing from the leisurely version of cycling to becoming a piece of sports equipment in its own right, even among ambitious bikers. You can see for yourself the countless possibilities and variations of e-biking during the E-Bike World Tour in Flachau from 24 to 26 June 2022. For the first time, the bike-crazy town in Salzburger Land is the only stop in Austria that is part of the Freeride World Tour series, which will also make stops in Tignes and Val d`Isere in France and Verbier in Switzerland. “The E-Bike World Tour is a dream come true in the premium destinations Flachau, Tignes, Val d'Isère and Verbier. Together we will provide an excellent experience for all participants and an important platform for the cycling industry,” says Nicolas Hale-Woods, CEO of the Tour. “We are delighted to be part of the E-Bike World Tour for the first time as the only stop in the German-speaking region. The e-bike has also become an integral part of everyday training for many sporty riders. With our festival, we want to show what is possible with this amazing piece of sports equipment,” explains Andreas Fischbacher, Managing Director of Flachau Tourism.
